ELLE FANNING LOOKS LIKE SPRING INCARNATE IN JANUARY

We're not mad about it.

Dressing in a way that feels light and feminine in the dead of winter is no easy task, with lots of thick layers and dark colors being the go-to for most people. But Elle Fanning isn't most people, as she showed us by embracing winter pastels with gusto while attending a lunch celebrating films powered by women at Sundance Tuesday.

15 DESIGNERS WHO ALWAYS WEAR THE SAME THING

This is peak uniform dressing.
by

In a business built on looks — and looking up-to-date — perhaps one of the biggest displays of power is to have a look that rarely changes. It's the critic with an already-established place in the industry who shows up to fashion week in a dad shirt and ill-fitting pants; it's the editor with a household name who doesn't change her hairstyle for decades at a time.

And quite often, it's the designers who are lauded for their ingenuity in cranking out creative new lines every season who rarely alter their own outfits. Whether the goal is to make sure they don't distract from the clothing they send down the runway or simply to alleviate decision fatigue, some of the biggest designers in the business stick to a uniform.

LAST DAYS OF SUMMER

 BY THEFASHIONGUITAR

The Post-Fashion Month workload is always extremely overwhelming… A gazillion outfits to share, a huge bulk of social media updates to be done, and planning our Fall/Winter “editorial calendar” and collaborations. I love it, don’t get me wrong, I do, but it’s time to expand the team to make sure my time is not pulled too much towards the logistical side of the business, but remains where my true passion is: Creating content.
But more on team-expansion later, let’s first focus on cherishing those last days of summer, because before we know it we are all bound to home again, having to stay in because of the pouring rain and excruciating cold temperatures. I am not looking forward to that. Hence, with a very welcome “high” of 23 degrees outside today, I’m pulling this pink-look from just before I left for New York Fashion Week. A mix of sequins and thin wool, long layers, and the must-have mules and bag of the season: the Alberta Ferreti Mia Mules and JW Anderson Pierce bag.
Holding on to the sun a little longer…

HOW JAMIE MIZRAHI BECAME THE GO-TO STYLIST FOR THE YOUNG HOLLYWOOD SET

Here, she shares wisdom she learned by climbing the industry ranks to build a client list that includes today's most promising up-and-coming talents, as well as bona-fide icons like Katy Perry and Britney Spears.

When certain generations of up-and-comers flock to the same stylist, it's often easy to see who's hired whom based on a shared aesthetic. Think back to the mid-2000s, when Rachel Zoe dressed Mischa Barton, Keira Knightley, Lindsay Lohan and more in bohemian kaftans, oversize sunglasses and upper-arm bracelets — a look so signature that her clients became known as "Zoebots." Today there's Monica Rose, the woman behind the streetwear-heavy, body-con ensembles that the Jenners, Kardashians and various Insta-famous models have come to prefer; Elizabeth Sulcer is the reason Bella Hadid, Taylor Hill, Stella Maxwell and the like are always decked out in leather, denim and silhouettes that bring major '80s and '90s vibes.
However, not every stylist who's popular within the rising star set prefers this "squad" mentality, and Los Angeles-based Jamie Mizrahi falls firmly into this camp. Her varied client list boasts some of today's most promising talents — Riley Keough, Sasha Lane, Olivia Thirlby, Suki Waterhouse, Ashley Benson — along with household names like Katy Perry, Kate Upton, Nicole Richie, Eva Mendes and Britney Spears. But rather than having an instantly recognizable "look" that she's known for, Mizrahi strives to have each of her girls' personalities and tastes shine through. "I think it's really important to think of the person before you think of yourself," she says. "It's a collaboration. I'm not dressing Ashley Benson like I'm dressing Riley Keough; I'm not dressing Riley Keough like I'm dressing Suki Waterhouse."

Never get tired of Pinterest and Tumblr and the great internet. I wish I could remember all the inspiration I come across, but while the images may fade, the good feeling lasts for a long, long time.
Unfortunately the original credit gets lost in all the re-blogging, and re-posting, so if anyone knows who deserves praise, please let me know!

A SHORT HISTORY OF HAIR

 BY THEFASHIONGUITAR

Hair is a delicate matter. Once you screw it up, it’s a long way back. I had my fair share of screw-ups, and looking back at my hair-history, I wonder how it’s possible I still have hair on my head. No, I’m kidding, but I do admit that over time I learned more about my hair and how to treat it. So truthfully, I can’t and I won’t tell you anything about the history of hair in general – as the caption of this article might let you to believe – but what I will do is tell you a little more about the history of mine, and hopefully help you getting to your “perfect” hair sooner than I did…
So over the years – I’m talking 15 years plus – I’ve done a lot to my hair. Things that are known to be not good for it, on the contrary. It all started with DIY hair coloring. Well, as we all know, that usually doesn’t turn out to be as the picture on the package, unless you are one of those home-colouring wizzards, which I’m not. Then I saved up, took a new direction, and had my high-lights done at a salon in my hometown. Not a big success either, considering leopard spots are only good on leopards, not on humans… Starting to figure out it’s all about the colorist, I did my homework and started traveling for my hair, other cities, different colorists, and I found one that did a great job, finally!

HAIR & STYLE - FASHION WEEK

by amlul.com

Today's post will be a little different than you're used to seeing in this blog I will dedicate it to the hairstyles that I have taken during this FWs. Start the Fashion Week New York with a haircut. Normally I wear it with long layers to give volume and movement because I like the feeling of wearing the hair air. However, this time I made a more radical change, a cut with straight hair and a medium length just below the shoulders. To bring this court to be trend in the coming months, it is essential to achieve before a healthy, shiny, with closed tips hair, but quiet, the decision to cut help you to solve one of the main problems, that of cleaning up tips . The rest you can achieve using suitable products and good quality as repairs and protects the line of Pantene that help protect and strengthen the hair.
In this edition of fashion week I bring you a different proposal for your hair, pick up almost entirely straight hair and introduce it inside the clothes, getting clear the face but in turn carrying loose hair, a perfect combination for us mane like to boast. I was combing star to go to many of the parades, presentations and events this season. With this hairstyle you get a natural look but something more sophisticated and versatile, as it is easily transformable into another of my hair this season. A bun with some hair in the upper area of the head, much like the monkeys that made me small, but not so high, I leave a picture to see him. A tip for getting both looks withstand all day without suffering frizz moisture this time, is to apply a little serum in the bottom of the hair.
you will have already seen numerous hairstyles with braids, ponytails high, semirecogidos or even hairstyles that seem to play with gravity. To illustrate this trend I leave some of the looks that you use during Fashion Week 2015, but always in a very organic way, giving an almost unkempt appearance. In my case I have always been in favor of more natural looks such as a water waves that give a very casual everyday look and are easy to match with any look.
