If you’re looking for a chic and easy way to update your wardrobe from summer to fall, consider the kimono.
Earlier this summer, Beyoncé stepped out in a whimsical version of the Japanese robe and a rainbow striped midi skirt, both by Senegalese designer Selly Raby Kane. The star paired the look with an equally ornate Burberry bag and Alaïa suede fringed heels.

Like the duster jacket, these T-shaped wraps are incredibly easy to style and can be worn over almost anything, especially as the weather cools down. The robes make a more stylish statement than last season’s ubiquitous bomber jackets. Plus, they pair so well with the trusted classic, basic pieces that probably make up a large percentage of your wardrobe—just look at Beyoncé’s simple black tank top and Robbie’s LBD.

The kimono comes in varying lengths, colors, and patterns, so you can tailor the look to your own style. A longer version looks great with high-waisted skinny jeans and minidresses, and a shorter cut will accentuate your waist when worn with a skirt and a cinched belt. It’s the perfect garment to ward off the chill of early fall.
